Missguided Haul

Hi Everyone,

I had a big ol’ splurge on the missguided website the other day and I thought I’d write a little post about some of the great bits I got, and also some of the not so great bits. As we all know with online shopping it can be totally hit or miss, and for me, material is a make or break issue, so some of the items I ordered I will be returning due to material, some because of cut, and some cos.. you know, they were just hideous in non-cyber form.

So, just in case you don’t know, although you’ve probably fathomed by now, missguided is an online fashion website (you can visit the website here). I went a bit mental on missguided, this was actually during my juice detox, so I think that goes someway into explaining my lapse in control. Another reason is because when you have a scroll through, they have tons of really lovely pieces that are just crying out for your shopping basket. The collection is so summery right now and definitely worth a look. I won’t show you all of the stuff I got, since some of it is really quite dull and also if I did, I think this post might turn into novel. Let’s jump right in:

First up is this cute little Popita Palm Tree Strappy Playsuit at £19.99

I absolutely adore the print on this playsuit. It’s fully lined fortuately so the white/cream colour isn’t going to be see-through in any way. On the website it says that this playsuit is 95% polyester. This is very common for missguided, there is an insane percentage of polyester going on in all of their clothes; however with this the material really doesn’t feel bad at all. It actually feels a bit silky. Be warned though if you’re interested in this piece, it is short. I am thinking of this for a holiday, mainly because I don’t really wear very short things in the UK out and about that often, and I’d probably not get taken that seriously if I started wearing hot pants to work! So this is strictly holiday for me to wear by itself. I was, however, thinking about teaming it with some black tights and ankle boots and a black leather jacket.. so we’ll see how that goes. But yes, liking this. Keep.

Next I’ll stick with the palm tree theme, is this Palika Palm Print A-Line Dress which was £24.99.

I think this is my favourite item in my haul. It looks SO chic on. The material is actually that strange scuba material, so again even though it’s white, it’s not see-through. I adore the print just at the bottom of the dress. The picture doesn’t show it so well, but the bottom of the dress isn’t white it’s a slightly pale grey/lilac/brown colour. This dress comes up quite large, so if you wanted it to be quite floaty I’d order your actual size, but if not I’d suggest a size down. I cannot wait to wear this one!

Next, I’ll show you something I wasn’t so impressed by. The Lisea Strawberry Print Bandeau Playsuit, £14.99

Image

I was a little disappointed with this one, since I really thought it would be so cute. Love the print, love the general style, however the cut just didn’t work. Unfortunately the material on the bandeau top kept rolling around the elasticated seam, so I felt as though I kept having to constantly unroll it to prevent the inner material from showing. This is one I am going to have to send back. I know for £14.99 I can’t exactly expect it to be perfect, but I need more clothes like I need a whole in the head so I am not inclined to keep this one for the print alone. Especially since, embarrassingly, I also bought the shorts that come in this print (Milisa Strawberry Print Shorts, £9.99 – which I love).

Yet another playsuit; Fleurette Abstract Floral Print Playsuit, £29.99

Image

For missguided, this is on the pricier end of the spectrum, so I umm-ed and ahh-ed about this for ages. In the end, I decided I loved the print too much to not get it, and I’m glad I did. The colours in this are so vibrant and gorgeous, and the shape of the cut at the sleeve is really different. It’s not as short as it looks in the picture, but it is pretty form fitting, so I think I’ll save mine for a night out at some point.

Next was a total and utter fail. The Lissie Lilac Bandeau Colour Block Mini Dress, £29.99

Image

When I saw this online I thought it would be so pretty. When I tried it on however it was just a disaster. The material is quite crepe-y, it is also 100% polyester, so in my opinion £29.99 is a bit too steep for that kind of quality material. The biggest issue with this however was the cut. Horrendous. The bandeau top was cut so large that it kept slipping down, while the bottom was uncomfortably tight, and oh-so unflattering. Unless your shape is that of Courtney Stodden, I urge you to stay away from this little mini.

Last but not least, is this amazing neon dress; Odeta Neon Orange 90s Strappy Mini Shift Dress, £19.99

Image

That neon tag is no joke. This dress is NEON. It’s quite a slinky little number, fully lined, and the colour is just amazing. You will definitely not get lost wearing this! Once again, I’m saving this for holidays, or super hot days, because it’s so light and comfortable. The neckline is a bit different and I think it will look so cute with a statement necklace. The downside to this one is that it creases like crazy, and annoyingly, it’s hand wash only. But still, am very pleased with this.

So that’s the end of the bits I’ll show you from my missguided haul, please let me know your thoughts 🙂

I hope you enjoyed reading and pop back in a day or so for more!
